earlier this month i had to make a short notice trip to germany. I also had the oppertunity to catch up with some old friends while i was ovedr there. i had a good time, and only took a few pictures. Sheila and i ar going to germany in may of oh-seven. that has already been planned, and i had already bought the tickets. a video should follow that trip.

...or "our trip to new York" has finale been approved. I like the way it came out. It was a lot of fun to do. But I wish I would have shot more sound bits. When I was shooting I was mostly thinking of getting good shots, and neglected the idea of perhaps telling a story with narration or soundbits. Perhaps narration could be added in the future, with some minor recutting. Regardless, I mainly made this video for my family and friends...Nothing serious, just a fun video, I mean, it was my vacation afterall. Enjoy...

Gelinde is our friend in germany. I have known her for over 20 years. I have lost touch with her for the last 4 years, but last weekend i got back in touch with her. I decided to make her a DVD of some resent work i have done.
browsing around the internet, i found a Marienhof Quiz. I got all the answers correct. pretty pathetic i think. they should turn college classes into soap opras. I finaly uploaded "big Apples" (or trip to NYC) und is now being verified by google.

...since i have made a post. first of all, Germany lost the world Cup... they did not manage to beat the italians, but at least made it to 3rd place. I still got my hair cut. i am not sure if i like it or not. but everyone around me seams to like it. Last week, I bought a new canopy for my moms boat. it matches perfectly with the boat. I also bought a fish eye lense. always wanted one, and now i have one. i have adaptor rings where i can fit it on my 35mm or my video camera. it takes great pix.

I have been boating alot. vollyball class is still fun, even though my body is sore constantly. thank god that we have a hot-tub to relax in. i also finished the video from our trip to NYC. ill post it soon... what else is new...? sheila and i are going to germany next summer. May 14-28th to be exact...

bengers video has had 267 hits as of yesterday... that surpasses the hindenburgers current hit count.

today is going to be an exciting game. Italy vs. Germany. I know it is going to be a close match. italy is a tough team. in a way I want germany to loose, because if they make it to the finaly and they win the world cup, i am going to shave my head. I have not defined "shaved" yet, but it will not be in its tradisonal meaning. my nice and short. a buzzz cut with about 2 to 3 inches left on my head. on the other hand, i am kinda looking forward to shaving my head, but i am nervouse obout it, because i have made it known to everyone already, so it is pretty much expected of me if germany happens to become world soccer chapions.

excuse my disrecard of propper spelling and gramer when writting my blogs
i just typ and don't bother ready my entrie till after i click submit.

...of this show. I have been producing this cooking for the last 2 years and it seams like there is no end. we started shooting the first two seasons in the fall of 2004. it was great, sponsors donated food, cabinets, stove, sink, preety much everything that you need to build a kitchen inside a TV studio. after the first 26 shows have been shot, they have to be edited. I had to experience the joy of editing 26 cooking shows by november. you would think that that would be the end of that. far from it. next thing was that johnny wanted to make and marked a DVD from his program. producing a cooking show like this is a full time job, year around. that would be fine and dandy if that would be the only project i would have to work on. but since my department consists of a skeleton crew and a couple of interns, it can get pretty overwelming and frustrating. the efford is paying off though. last fall, we pulled the cabinets back out of storage and reassembled the kitchen in our studio to shoot 13 more shows. this set of shows came out alot better than the first set. New the show has been picked up by some mayor markets in Texas. I am proud of that, but we pretty much commited to produce more shows now. In september, the show should be distributed nation wide through PBS. But now I am busy dublicating and producing promotonal material for the program and the DVD. I can't hear that song anymore (paying my dues blues, from the Killer Tracks music Library) off coarse, everyone has to be happy. I don't know how many photographs we took. how many times johnny changed his mind about the picture he wants on the cover. Then I misspelled Cheese on the artwork for the DVD cover. Luckly I noticed that when Discmakers sent me the Proofs. (Setup charge down the drain) Now we have 1000 DVD's that we are trieng to sell. My boss does not like the quality of the "web quality video" we have on the website. I told him that i would resample the clip from 400k to 800k. well the frustration that prompted me to rant on the show was to discover that there is no visual difference between the 400k and the 800k clip.

just like all the othe myspace loosers, i decided to do a face lift my myspace space. it was simple. really that is all i have to say about that.

CTC bought me a new I-mac that i wave been waiting for for the last 4 weeks. now it is on campus, but i can't set it up yet, because they need to add it to the inventory. what a pain in the ass. I really need to get started on this project, but i refuse to use my personal computer to do work related stuff. just like work does not like it if i use work stuff for personal use. i guess i have to set up the i-mac tomorrow. it is going to take like 4 hours to install final cut studio, photoshop, and stuff.

chris is back. he spend 6 month in saudi to defened our freedom. yesterday i took a personal day off from work, so we could watch the world cup (germany equador 3:0) it was a great time. this weekend, sheila is off, so we are going to visit chris in san antonio

chris has a new apartment, and he wants to buy a new TV. he wants me to set it all up so we can watch worldcup on saturday.

...or maybe not. I have been working on the video from our trip to new york. I made alot of progress, and i like how its comming together. Ther is something missing though. I realized that i apear in only one shot. and i dont have many sound bits at all. so the video is going to be just a series of montages with great music. this is not going to be the bast thing i have been working on, but it will still be fun to watch.

Chris is going to be in town on tuesday. we are going to watch Germany vs Equadore WM game. He has been in saudi since december. before he left, i asked him to bring be something back that was middle eastern, but he was not able to leave base during his entire time there. I wanted some middle eastern music, but he did'nt get me any. does anyone know any good middle eastern music that i could download from I-tunes? I think middle eastern music is soo cool.

last wednsday Poland and Germany were playing in the WM. man, that was a fucking awsome game. you had nose bleeds, yellow cards, red cards, gernies, and 150 soccer holigans arrested. germany was the only team to score in that match during the 3 min injury overtime.

it is raining today in central texas. i hope it clears up tonight. because i want to go to the boat. I am thinking about surprising my mom by buying a new canopy top for it.

Friday, June 09, 2006

...i had my first volleyball class. man; am i out of shape. i have not had a "side-sting" since i was in middle school, and all we did was practice the "forarm pass" and the "set". it was alot of fun, but i do dred doing a real match. another middle school flashback i experienced was when we all had to get a volley ball out of the bin, I ended up with no ball. I am just glad that i am not the fattest person in class. and i do not mean the phatest, because that's what i am.

Texas is hot, and summer has not officaly started yet. tonight, sheila and i and some friends are going to have a little party on the boat. we wanted to do it tomorrowe night, but mom wants to use the boat on that night.

what a game. i left work early today to catch the first game of the 2006 world cup. I have all right to do that because i am german, i would be commiting a mortal sin if i were to miss any german game. germany played costa rica, and germany won 4:2

Sunday, June 04, 2006

on our resend trip to NYC we decided that we wanted to be part of a morning show. sheila, mom and i went out early to chatch fax and friends. I Programd the DVR to record us when we get one. enjoy....

...That my mother and I immigrated to the US. Spending my child hood in Germany, I had envisioned that America was just like the movies. Everyone had a pool in their back yard. People had fast cars. Everyday was like Disney world. Of course I quickly realized that I was very much disillutiond. First couple of weeks in the states was fun. We visited my aunt in south Carolina. They had a boat, and my cousins had mini motor cycles and go-carts. Off coarse that supported my illusions of the states. A week after that we went to meet the "new" relatives in abopca, Florida; that is where my step father was from. Ironical, most of my new step aunts had jobs at "Disney world". That was cool, because I got to go for free. There is nothing more exciting for a 12 1/2 year old boy, than to be able to go do Disney world for free, further supporting my disillution.

The reality started to become apparent that America was not jolly-jolly-gum-drop, when we arrived at our final destination in Fort Riley, KS. That is where my stepfather was being stationed. My first years in the states were horrible. We lived in the ghetto of Junction City Kansas on North Calhoun Street. Middle School was the hell of hell for me because I had trouble fitting in with me being the weird German kid, who was more mature than most other kids. It also did not help that I hated my step father. He was a fucking asshole who cheated on my mom and never payed attention to me unless I had to be grounded. I wanted to move back to Germany within that first year.

I had finale made a group of friends in my 8th grade year. That's also the year I started smoking and getting in trouble at school. Mike, Will, Tim, Tony, and I were the "Heavy Metal Group" during the 92-93 year at Fort Riley Middle School. Those were fun times. In the fall of 93 my mother got divorced after stationing at Fort Hood Texas. By that time I had pretty much mastered the English language, I liked Killeen High School, and I started to get excited about living in the states. My mother had proposed on moving back to Germany, but she did not want me to change schools again.

Today I have pretty much integrated myself to a point that I consider living in the states to be my home. When people ask me if I prefer Germany or Texas, I tell them that "my love for Germany is like the love to a mother, my love to Texas is like a love to a wife" I pride myself of being a native German, and being able to retain my mothers toung. On the other had pride myself of being able to adapt in a foreign country to a point where I have a great wife, a good carreer, and a great potential for the future.

Yesterday, sheila, my mom and I returned after a week in New York City. We had a perfect time, but we are glad to be back home with crumpus and chester.

Last Saturday we already had a great start by me leaving sheila's bag at DFW's Air-Link train. We got the bag back really quickly though. Upon arrival at LGA in NYC we took the M60 Bus from the airport to 106th street, where we would catch a number 1 train down to 96th street to our hotel. Our bus driver decided to take a bathroom break, so she emptied the bus on 126th street in Harlem and took of with us white folks stranded in the middle of the lions den. About 15min later another bus came to pick us up, and I caught one of the "locals" going through sheilas back pack. I caught him doing so and he ran off the bus.

when we finely made it to the hotel it was off to hit the streets. We checked out Time Square, the Battery, and the 9-11 hole that first day. The next morning I woke the girls at 6 am to we can get an early start to avoid the lines at the ferry to go see the statue of liberty. Good thing I had purchased our tickerts in advance and we got on the boat in no-time. Except for the
post 9-11 security bull shit we had to go through. Upon arrival on liberty island we had to go through another screening in order to enter the statue (big brother is live and well).

other things we visited in NYC was the empire state building, china town, little Italy, central park, Coney island, Washington square park, brookly bridge, wall street. The Hello Deli, Guggenheim, American Museum of Nat. History, and much much more.

Tuesday morning, we got our National TV debut on fix and friends. Yes we had to do it. Jump around in the background window of the studio. There are several good shots of us. Good thing I DVRed it.

Wednesday, Sheila and I had to take the New Jersey Transit to Carteret NJ to catch a Dinner Cruise around Manhattan island. Penn Station was Crazy, but we made it to port in time. The cruise was great, the food was awesome, and the night time view of the Manhattan skyline was breath taking. To top it off, as soon as the boat turned around to head back to port, fireworks started firing into the night sky over jersey city.

The next morning, I turned on the news, they reported that all of New Jersey Transit was down due to power failure. Boy, where we glad that the power did not go out 4 hours earlier, or we would of been one of the thousands that were trapped in the trains that morning.

since Sheila and I bought soo much crap, we had to buy another suitcase to bring it all home... After a long delay at LGA we had only 20 min to go to our flight to Killeen from DFW. our bags did not make that flight, and we had to go back to the airport that night to pick them up.

there is soo much more to say, but to wrap it up, we had a Blast, but are glad to be back in the much slower paced life of central Texas. I am excited to start planning our next trip to anywhere, because it will not take long for me to get itchy feet again

natural, just like on any CWnation vacation, there is an obscene number of photos that I took. I will post more in the near future, and off coarse, there will also be a video soon. Tuesday it is back to work, and I know there is a bunch off stuff waiting for me

Friday, May 19, 2006

tomorrow morning my mother, sheila and I are going to visit New york, NY for a week. we have have a full program planned on what we are going to do. mostly its going to be the typical stuff that you see the first time you go to the big apple; statue of liberty, empire state building, 9-11 hole, etc. In addition, sheila and I have a dinner cruise around Manhatten planned for wednesday night. it's oing to be soo much fun. I will also meet an old friend from high school. we are all very excited. it has been awhile since we went on a vacation. Today i have to take care of some lest minute arrangements like bring Krumpus and henry to sheilas parants house. buy some 800 speed film, and pick up sheilas birth-control from walmart. our hotel is located at the upper-west side (respek) i found a tuerkish restaurant on in lower manhatten that sells doeners. I think i am mostly excited about that, since i have not had a doener nearly 18 month now. i hope they are as good in new york as they are in frankfurt or berlin. I also hope i can find some Ramazzotti, since my supply is pretty much deminished. my father brought me a bottle of ramazzotti when he came to visit last september.

if you read this in time, then tune to "fox and friends" tuesday morning and see if you can see us in the background. I am intending to make a fool out of myself on live national television. off coarse i will be fosting lots of photographs and videos of our trip.

Dr Coughdrop, from the streets of K-Town. Plays the female intrest of rockstar Stevy B in a new video produced by cwfilms. when asked how he feels about playing a woman in the "common girl and dance with me" video, he replied "I hope that my father don't see dis". Stevy B commented that the reason he did not use a real girl for the video, because we could not find one. Stevy B's video should premier sometime this summer. stay tuned to cwnation for updates.

Dr Coughdrop is currently having a video produced for his Smash hit "giant cockroach" by 10cup productions, currently based on the "visons of the sea" cruise ship" and should release soon. Dr Coughdrop will make an appearance on KNCT's Mundo Latino show next Saturday.

so much for our brotherly blood oath. but chris is stationed in saudi at the moment, so we can,t make the game. plus, flights to germany are to expensive at the moment

Thursday, April 27, 2006

Man, I have posted a lot of crap lately. But this one is one to remember...At least for me, but I guess that is why it is cwnation. I found this entry on a blog of RPK (aka reiner, aka father #2). It is in German, but I will recap the content in English for all of you non Germans. I basically mirrors a conversation I had with a co-worker last week about the explosion of the nuclear powerplant in tschernoble. We pointed out how fast the last 20 years past by so quickly. Then I told my coworker about a conversation I overheard between my mother and RPK about the dangers of radiation. I started crying and said "I don't want Cancer" (german word for cancer translates to crab) he replied "well, what do you want?, lobster" although at that time, that comment had made me even more upset, but thinking back I find it really funny.

he also goes on talking about the hindenburger video , and that he does not understand why I did that "I guess film-makers do that sort of stuff from time to time"

to visit RPK go to www.rpk.net/diary

his name is Carlos Antonio Smith and lives .2 miles from my house. I am going to make sure ill send him a x-mas card this year.

...i wish i would have known sooner that this project i was working on had to be compleated on may first instead of june first. so now here i am burning the midnight oil to get this fucking project done. chances are. once it is done, i would have to probarly redo it anyways.

but why do i care. if it is not this it is something else. 3 more weeks, them sheila, my mother, and i are going to visit New York for one week. I can't wait, it is going to be soo exciting

since sara died 6 weeks ago, we really began to realize how much we missed having a dog. so today, sheila and i adopted a 2 year old bitch of a beagle. she just had puppys and was fixed. so naturaly she is a bit traumatized. next, we are going to have to get her "chipt" and have her stitches taken out. here is her first photo at home.

... sheila and I threw a little get-together with some friends to honor toes farewell. It was ment to be this big "binge-fest" but it ended up being just a really nice and layed back gathering with friends. Sheilas Skip-and-go-nakid was a big hit. Ruhl bought a Gallon of Jager. sosa and her boyfriend came over, and so did maria and erik from accross the street. No Alcohole comas at this party. Fred called me up at 2am, right when the party desolved.

since we had so many people together in a good mood, we decided to take this opperunity to shoot a scene for dr. coughdrops music video "Giant Cockroach". it was crazy fun, and once the video is compleated, i will naturaly post it here.

I do not admire this person. but I do love watching Hitler stuff on the history channel. I would also love to see how many people view my site. People tend to respond to outrageous post, so there. Ill let you fill up my comments. Happy birthday Hitler

one of my best friends and co-workers got a new job yesterday. I wish I could have done more to keep him around. I was praying for a miracle, but that miracle never came, perhaps it is still coming. I don't blame him, matter of fact I am proud and happy for him. He will be spending the next 6 month on a cruise ship, filming drunk tourist in Alaska. His girlfriend is upset, naturally, but I have faith that they are going to be alright. He is going to have a blast. You can keep up with his adventure by going to his website but first we are going to have a drink fest this Saturday to celebrate his farewell...

last Tuesday Sheila and I had to put sahra to sleep. She was suffering from a deceased liver for the past year and a half. "She surprised me by hanging on this long" the Vet had stated. Sheila and I buried Sahra that same morning on sheila's parants property. A tin box from IKEA served as a casket and my mother contributed a reef that she had found at Good Will for her grave.

Sheila and I are getting used to not having Sahra around, who has been with our family for the last two and a half years. We adopted her from the animal shelter. We condsider the sime that sahra was with us, as being her retirement. We took her to every outing possible; from scaling Enchanted Rock to taking it easy on the deck of the Lorelei.

She will be missed, but we know she was happy with us and fought till the end to stay alive.

The Distance Learning department adopted my service to produce video contend for their PDA curiculum that Central Texas College wants to launch this june. This week i went to san antonio to attend the TxDLA (Texas Distance Learning Association) Conference. I have a greater understanding of Distance Learning as a whole. but most of the seasions was designed for techers, and the Techy stuff was mostly on video conference. I produced a video last week to be used as a presentation for TxDLA, and for the PDA itself.

The hotel is nice. free internet and free beer. at night i go to the hottub. i miss sheila, but i will have thursdsay and friday of and so does sheila.

FOX news have a "Terror Survivel Guide" posted on their website,it is quite amusing to watch. another wonderfull way to frighten everyone. next thing you will see is, we are all out buying powerbars and keeping wads of money in our pockets. looking for suspisious people is going to cause everyone to spy on everyone. don't leave the country. AMERICANS it is not save to leave the country. dont worry however: if you dont wear your "God Bless America" T-shirt; no one will be able to tell if you are american. hell, i am german and americans think i am american.

I graduated from high school in 1997. I started at CTC the following Fall
semester. I completed all classes required for a broadcasting certificate in
record time. Then I took a 5 year break from school, and last fall I decided
to return to school to finish my degree.
Since I work full time for the college, I can take classes for free, but I
can only take night classes. Last fall I started going back to school by
taking freshmen English. This semester I enrolled in US Government. Last
semester I felt overwhelmed with going to class, writing papers, but I
quickly got a hang of in and I really enjoyed the class. This semester I
have a lot more confidence going in. I think this class is going to be a
snap.
Next semester I am going to crank up a gear and take 2 classes, or it will
take me forever to graduate.
