The event went down without a hitch. Ron Paul arrived slightly earlier, so the timing of the even was perfect. we had about 400 people fill the auditorium. Sheila came up during her lunch to sneak a picture with the good doctor. now it is off to Austin for the Big Rally there.

After hearing about the many recent homecomings of Fort Hood soldiers, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul decided to visit Killeen and honor them for their service, Paul said in a telephone interview Friday.
The Texas congressman will speak at 11 a.m. today at Vive Les Arts, 3401 S. W.S. Young Drive in Killeen. Doors open at 10:15 a.m.
The candidate said he expects a good turnout for his speech. He said he will discuss military, national defense and terrorism issues, all of which directly relate to the people in the Killeen community.
"I think it's recognized that we get more support from active-duty military than all other candidates put together," Paul said.
Veterans benefits is another issue Paul plans to address today. He said he wants to provide more help to returning troops.
Paul also mentioned his support for an exit strategy from Iraq.
"I think the best thing is for us to come home but do it in a way that's safe," he said.
Based on donations and support received from active-duty military personnel, Paul said they can relate to his campaign.
"I think they're very supportive of (a troop withdrawal)," Paul said. "A lot of them have been to Iraq."
Paul said people know he has a record with a great deal of independence.
"They recognize I'll be concerned with the whole picture," Paul said. Paul said he is focused on dealing with problems faced by middle-class Americans.

Bill Clinton will attend an early-vote event at the Andy K. Wells Hike and Bike Trail at 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd. at 11:15 a.m. Saturday.
Bill Clinton has been traveling throughout Texas promoting Hillary Rodham Clinton who seeks the Democrat nomination for the 2008 president candidate. Bill Clinton is also scheduled to visit Corpus Christi and El Paso.
Congressman Ron Paul will speak at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vive Les Arts, 3401 South W.S. Young Drive. Doors will open at 10:15 a.m.
Paul represents the 14th District of Texas in the southeast part of the state including Galveston. He is seeking the Republican nomination for the 2008 presidential candidate. He currently trails U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, and Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.

Ron Paul will be in town Saturday, and people who drove near Fort Hood's east gate at Rancier Avenue and Fort Hood Street on Wednesday know about it.
About 70 people waved signs midday supporting Paul, who is seeking the Republican nomination for president. Congressman Paul, R-Texas, will speak during a rally at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vive Les Arts, 3401 S. W.S. Young Drive in Killeen. Doors open at 10:15 a.m.
"The word got out (about Wednesday's sign wave event) everywhere in Texas, and Ron Paul heard about it," said Vincent Campos, of Mineral Wells.
Campos said that led to Paul scheduling a visit to Killeen.
Campos served in the Army from 2004 to 2007 and was stationed at Fort Hood. He joined the Army to fight the war in Iraq and spent 2006 there.
"After going there ... my entire outlook on the war has completely changed," Campos said.
He said Paul is the best candidate to support the troops and bring them home.
"He has a plan," Campos said.
That plan is for all military operations in Iraq to stop and for troops to come home in the safest manner possible, according to Paul's Web site ronpaul2008.com.
"On my first day as commander in chief, I will direct the Joint Chiefs of Staff and our commanders on the ground to devise and execute a plan to immediately withdraw our troops in the safest manner possible," reads a statement on Paul's policies.
A Ron Paul meet-up group in Killeen worked with Campos to organize the event.
"It's just exciting that a presidential candidate is coming to Killeen," said Christian Wohlfarht, of Killeen. "Killeen sometimes gets its spot on the map."
Mike Bartoszek, of Killeen, is also part of that meet-up group. He said Wednesday's sign wave event had a positive response.
"I think the sign wave was a good indicator," Bartoszek said.
The event Saturday will be a welcome-home and troop support celebration in addition to a campaign rally, organizers said.
"Listen to what he has to say. You're tired of the Republican Party ... a lot of folks are jumping ship to punish the party," Wohlfarht said. "Just give him a chance."
Paul, who represents the 14th District of Texas in the southeast part of the state including Galveston, trails dramatically in the primary elections. According to cnn.com, Paul has garnered just 16 delegates, compared to Sen. John McCain's 918.
But that doesn't daunt Paul's supporters.
After all is said and done in the primary elections across the United States, delegates at the Republican National Convention in August will select the candidate to run for president.
"He said himself he is going all the way to the end," Campos said.

there is no one running for president. that will work in the interest of the American people, except one man, who unfortunately has little chance of making it. That man is Ron Paul, he is truly the peoples candidate, but thanks to our media who only serves big government interest, largely ignored or censored him. though, Ron Paul is likely not to win the white house, the fight will continue towards truth and freedom, and i will be in the front of this battle.
Next phase for me will be smearing Sen. McCain as much as possible and to encourage people to "Write-in" Ron Paul on the Ballot.

ron paul, huck, and mccain are the last GOP candidates left. McCain folks a are talking about voting for billary. and the mccain camp are admitting that it will be harder for the GOP if the dems select Obama...wow this has been a really exciting campain so far. hopfully we can deliver texas to ron paul next month. i am also hoping that there is going to be a paul-mccain debate between now and the end of the primaries...

a couple of days ago i got en email from a "Ron Paul Meat up group member" from Dallas. he wanted me to arrange a venue for ron paul to come to Killeen. So the last couple of days i have been calling around to get a place big enough to hold 1000 people. well a few minutes ago i got a call from Ron Raul's campaign manager. she wants me to see if the college is willing to host the good doctor. i am so excited, i am afraid that i will not be able to sleep much tonight. i Mean i have Ron Paul's campaign mangers direct phone number. I told her to say hello to the good dr for me. If i pull this off, then Dr. Paul would technically owe me. i guess if he would deliver my baby (providing Sheila is prego), would call us even LOL...

I had to make a trip to the marina to pay for the slip. i asked if cassy's wanted to come along. se he grabed his dogs and i got krumpus and we made a day with the kids out of it. all the dogs got along with eachother. krumpus and Cassy's dog toby seamed to befriend each other. only cortney was not to sure about krumpus at first.
we took the boat on a spin and chatted about god and the world for several hours. it was really windy and my lips are so chaped, that the first thing i did when i got home was put some nivea on my lips. outch it burned.
after wards, cassy and i drove around a hung some ron paul signes, and fix some signs that had gotten loose.
i know i have not blogged on this at all, since i was not sure how it was going to go down, but sheila and i signed on our first house yesterday. the processes took about 3 weeks with all the surveying, inspecting, financing, and insuring. we are really excited. here is a video of us last night toasting and giving a little tour of the house.
