What thrilling rallies we've just had in Texas. First there were the Students for Ron Paul at the University of Texas in Austin. The media said 4,000 came. Our people think there were more like 7,000. In any event, it was a very enthusiastic gathering of our revolutionaries, as even the media admitted.
You will not be surprised to know that the young people there cheered the pure message of liberty: no preemptive wars, no Federal Reserve, no income tax, no police state, no drug war. Just American liberty and the Constitution, in the tradition of the framers.
But the rally in Killeen, though much smaller, may have been just as significant. Killeen is near Fort Hood, and among the 300 people who attended were many active-duty soldiers (though not in uniform) and their families. Whether it was the young man going back to Iraq for his fourth tour, or the sister of a soldier just killed there, they all wanted change in our foreign policy. Most heartbreaking was the young mother who asked for a signed copy of the Constitution for her son, "who will never know his dad." He too was just killed in Iraq.
How can we ask one young American to die for a neocon empire? The soldiers and their families agree with us, which is why our campaign gets more financial support from active-duty and retired military than all the rest combined. They want to defend America, not be part of some globalist scheme to take away our country's independence. And by the way, at both rallies, nobody was for the monstrous Trans-Texas Corridor or the North American Union.
Coming up soon are the Texas and Ohio primaries, with others like Pennsylvania not long afterwards. We are contesting every one, and we will be heard at the Republican national convention in Minneapolis and beyond. A substantial minority of Americans in all parties, not to speak of Independents, agree with you and me. Until November and beyond, I want to work to turn that minority into a majority, with your help. RonPaul2008.Com/Donate
Sincerely,
Ron

Killeen Daily Herald
Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul was greeted by supporters from all walks of life – many smiling, wearing campaign buttons and holding signs – during his stop in Killeen on Saturday.
A sense of excitement and eagerness filled the packed auditorium of Vive Les Arts, as the Texas congressman spoke about how he would solve the nation's problems.
Two key points echoed throughout Paul's speech: limiting government control and getting back to the Constitution.
Freedom in the United States has been under attack for a while, Paul said, and the two political parties haven't offered much of an alternative.
The government should not control what type of food and drugs people put into their bodies; it gets overly involved in those regulations and denies choices to Americans, Paul said.
People should have freedom of choice regarding medicine and nutrition, he added.
"Liberty is especially undermined when people become frightened," he said.
Paul said the government would like to put fear into people's hearts in order to regulate more.
The GOP candidate said national defense should be focused more on protecting America and not interfering with other countries.
"We shouldn't be getting involved with the internal affairs of other nations," Paul said. "We should never have to sacrifice one drop of liberty for our security."
When Paul said that Americans have sacrificed a lot of their freedom, several members in the crowd nodded their heads in agreement.
Paul added that the U.S. should not be trying to persuade other countries to follow its laws and Americans' religious beliefs.
"They're not going to react well to that. It would be the same way if China came here and told us how to live," Paul said as people cheered.
Paul also spoke about the Iraq war, which already has cost America $1 trillion, he said, and the war might cost $3 trillion by the time it's over.
Paul said the war started under illegitimate terms and that it is "time to come home." Troops should be brought home in a cautious, wise and safe way, he added.
The congressman then discussed problems people in the middle class face and how they can be traced to the country's economic system.
Middle-class Americans are struggling with debt and rising gas costs, and it's going to keep getting worse as the Federal Reserve keeps printing more money, Paul said.
Dirk Davidek, a Ron Paul supporter who drove from San Antonio for the speech, said his biggest issue is with the monetary system.
"If we don't change the banking system, nothing else will change," Davidek said.
Paul also said that the 16th Amendment, which gives Congress the power to collect income taxes, should be repealed.
He also said he wants to get rid of the Federal Reserve.
"We are way further into a recession than they admit," Paul said.
At the end of the rally, Paul discussed his plan to put people in Washington who know, understand and respect the Constitution.
"He's the only candidate with a shot at the White House who wants to stick to the Constitution," Davidek said.
Michael and Kimberly Sleeth, of Belton, came to the rally with their three children to show support for their favorite candidate.
Michael said Paul is the only one he sees supplying a viable and sustainable future for the country.
Paul was scheduled to speak at the University of Texas in Austin later in the day.

After hearing about the many recent homecomings of Fort Hood soldiers, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul decided to visit Killeen and honor them for their service, Paul said in a telephone interview Friday.
The Texas congressman will speak at 11 a.m. today at Vive Les Arts, 3401 S. W.S. Young Drive in Killeen. Doors open at 10:15 a.m.
The candidate said he expects a good turnout for his speech. He said he will discuss military, national defense and terrorism issues, all of which directly relate to the people in the Killeen community.
"I think it's recognized that we get more support from active-duty military than all other candidates put together," Paul said.
Veterans benefits is another issue Paul plans to address today. He said he wants to provide more help to returning troops.
Paul also mentioned his support for an exit strategy from Iraq.
"I think the best thing is for us to come home but do it in a way that's safe," he said.
Based on donations and support received from active-duty military personnel, Paul said they can relate to his campaign.
"I think they're very supportive of (a troop withdrawal)," Paul said. "A lot of them have been to Iraq."
Paul said people know he has a record with a great deal of independence.
"They recognize I'll be concerned with the whole picture," Paul said. Paul said he is focused on dealing with problems faced by middle-class Americans.

Ron Paul will be in town Saturday, and people who drove near Fort Hood's east gate at Rancier Avenue and Fort Hood Street on Wednesday know about it.
About 70 people waved signs midday supporting Paul, who is seeking the Republican nomination for president. Congressman Paul, R-Texas, will speak during a rally at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vive Les Arts, 3401 S. W.S. Young Drive in Killeen. Doors open at 10:15 a.m.
"The word got out (about Wednesday's sign wave event) everywhere in Texas, and Ron Paul heard about it," said Vincent Campos, of Mineral Wells.
Campos said that led to Paul scheduling a visit to Killeen.
Campos served in the Army from 2004 to 2007 and was stationed at Fort Hood. He joined the Army to fight the war in Iraq and spent 2006 there.
"After going there ... my entire outlook on the war has completely changed," Campos said.
He said Paul is the best candidate to support the troops and bring them home.
"He has a plan," Campos said.
That plan is for all military operations in Iraq to stop and for troops to come home in the safest manner possible, according to Paul's Web site ronpaul2008.com.
"On my first day as commander in chief, I will direct the Joint Chiefs of Staff and our commanders on the ground to devise and execute a plan to immediately withdraw our troops in the safest manner possible," reads a statement on Paul's policies.
A Ron Paul meet-up group in Killeen worked with Campos to organize the event.
"It's just exciting that a presidential candidate is coming to Killeen," said Christian Wohlfarht, of Killeen. "Killeen sometimes gets its spot on the map."
Mike Bartoszek, of Killeen, is also part of that meet-up group. He said Wednesday's sign wave event had a positive response.
"I think the sign wave was a good indicator," Bartoszek said.
The event Saturday will be a welcome-home and troop support celebration in addition to a campaign rally, organizers said.
"Listen to what he has to say. You're tired of the Republican Party ... a lot of folks are jumping ship to punish the party," Wohlfarht said. "Just give him a chance."
Paul, who represents the 14th District of Texas in the southeast part of the state including Galveston, trails dramatically in the primary elections. According to cnn.com, Paul has garnered just 16 delegates, compared to Sen. John McCain's 918.
But that doesn't daunt Paul's supporters.
After all is said and done in the primary elections across the United States, delegates at the Republican National Convention in August will select the candidate to run for president.
"He said himself he is going all the way to the end," Campos said.
For more information on local Paul support or the rally Saturday, e-mail mike.bartoszek82@gmail.com.
The Texas primary election is March 4.

believe my eyes when I read about HHO gas, and how to extract that gas
from water. This morning it took me only one minute to build my own
working prototype. Granted, I am not getting a significant amount of
fuel out of it yet, but I am making a flammable fuel from water.

stood there today. ( LOL I did it again, I am so funny)

there is no one running for president. that will work in the interest of the American people, except one man, who unfortunately has little chance of making it. That man is Ron Paul, he is truly the peoples candidate, but thanks to our media who only serves big government interest, largely ignored or censored him. though, Ron Paul is likely not to win the white house, the fight will continue towards truth and freedom, and i will be in the front of this battle.
Next phase for me will be smearing Sen. McCain as much as possible and to encourage people to "Write-in" Ron Paul on the Ballot.
